The Intimate

See, I’m smitten by Jo Dong Hyuk lately so I picked up The Intimate and after finishing it, I’m kinda frustrated…

The Intimate Synopsis (from Yesasia):
Sung plays a woman who has never taken a risk in her life. She has been dating the same man for seven years and is planning to get married next month. Then one day she meets a handsome stranger, played by Cho Dong Hyuk, who persuades her to spend one day with him. Maybe it was a mistake to accept his proposal, but over the next twenty-four hours she will experience a level of excitement and intimacy, as well as confusion, that she has never experienced before, and could change her life forever.

My comments:
Obviously, the steamy scenes were the selling point of the movie but beneath that, I think it’s actually a romance movie. The premise alone is romantic enough and it did have some sweet, funny and romantic moments; however, it ends in an unromantic and ugly way. I was hoping that Boy or Girl will make the first move at the end when the taxi stops at the traffic light…but oh well…I find it hard to accept Girl’s final decision to still marry her fiancé when he’s pretty much a jerk who doesn’t seem to love her (he uses hell to describe their love!). And what kind of guy would not mind his fiancée having a last fling before marriage with another man and telling her to have a good time?! Why she still chose him? Is it because of love (which I don’t buy in their case), financial stability or familiarity for being together 7 years? Scratch head…

hm, the plot seems a bit like the good girl: a woman with a boring life who has a fling, etc. it was an alright movie.
